Attractive base in Bonn

The DFG Head Office is located in the beautiful Bad Godesberg district of Bonn. It is set amid lots of greenery but also offers good transportation links. As part of the Federal City of Bonn, it contributes to the latter’s cultural diversity and beauty. Bonn is:

Beethoven Monument Bonn

Beethoven’s birthplace

Ludwig van Beethoven was born in Bonn in 1770. You can still delve into his life and times to this day. A good place to start is the Beethoven House in the city centre of Bonn.

University City

The University of Bonn (Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität) was named an Excellence University in 2019 – and it’s an impressive visual landmark in the city, too.

Rhine and Siebengebirge

The Rhine is just a walk away from the Head Office. A walk to the Rhine River Promenade is a great way to unwind from your day-to-day routine. From there you also have a great view of the Siebengebirge hills, which you can also see from some of our offices.

Carnival

In the Rhineland, we love this exceptional, crazy time of year. Bonn is one of the hotspots of the carnival hustle and bustle, and we enjoy celebrating together at the Head Office, too.
